The Army cross country teams utilize the rolling hills of the West Point Golf Course as the home venue for all cross country meets. The challenging course consists of two separate loops (2,000 meters and 3,000 meters) and can be run in variations of 4k, 5k, 6k, 8k and 10k. The course is mainly short grass and fairways with limited sections run on the paved cart path. The loop style course makes it a favorable course for spectators as there are multiple opportunities to see runners pass by the same areas. The course begins on a flat fairway and quickly rushes downhill for about a half mile. At the bottom of the hill, runners begin the trek up the slope of the ski hill before turning into a wooded flat section. Emerging from the woods near the mile mark, the course continues to climb through the front-nine of the golf course before descending back to the level of the start. Multiple loops are repeated, depending on the distance of the race, until the final loop which finishes at the bottom of the ski hill, located directly in front of the ski lodge.
