The 5,000-suqare-foot complex, located off of Route 9W between Washington and Stony Lonesome Gates, is part of the U.S. Military Academy’s “Margin of Excellent” facilities upgrade project. Baker Barrios Architects of Orlando, Fla., designed the facility while Hillside Homes provided the construction. Located just a driver away from the West Point Golf Course, the Groves Training Facility houses a mammoth indoor putting surface complete with light rough, team lounge area with logoed leather furniture and a large screen television, spacious, individual wood lockers, shower and laundry facilities, storage spaces, full kitchen, trophy room and designated locations for net work and swing analysis. The latest addition to the facility is a simulator that will be delivered this season. With walls lined with photos, flagsticks, pin flags, honors and awards, the Groves Training Facility highlights the rich tradition of Army golf and helps ensure that success continues. The newest addition to the Army golf facilities is a state-of-the-art simulator. The Full Swing Golf simulator is utilized by courses, training facilities, athletes and celebrities throughout the world and allows golfers another opportunity to play golf.
